Julian Lovato (b. 1922) was born on the Santo Domingo Pueblo and is a master craftsman. His jewelry is known for the quality of the turquoise and coral he uses. It is these high quality stones and excellent silversmithing that make Lovato a renowned traditional artist. His inspiration is primarily traditional, but he worked with famed artist Frank Patania and began to grow as an artist.

His work became “raised, dimensional jewelry design” through Patania’s influence. He is a master silversmith and began to work with gold, making his jewelry and eloquent balance between metal and stone.
