Mary Irene, b. 1987, is a member of the Muscogee Creek tribe of Oklahoma and currently resides in Santa Fe, NM. She is fairly new to the jewelry industry but has a background in pottery as well as fashion design. Her primary medium is sterling silver although she is venturing into working with 14k and 18k gold. Mary enjoys the idea of experimenting with different techniques such as cuttlebone casting, silver wire sculpting and off-set stone setting to achieve her unique designs. She attributes her success to having amazing teachers such as Cody Sanderson and Michael Roanhorse as well as Fritz Casuse at the Poeh Arts Center.
